Ashtabula, Ohio - Flying Saucer Gas Station
Mar 02, 2012
In 1976 I went to Ashtabula, Ohio to see my friend's lounge band perform, and on the way home the next day I drove past the flying saucer gas station on route 20. I picked up my Super 8 camera and filmed the scene as we sat at the light. I think this was torn down in 1999.

David Francey Ashtabula (Lake Erie, Ohio)
Feb 28, 2012
David Francey sings about Ashtabula Ohio on Lake Erie, coal port, home of March Playmate 1960 Sally Sarell. Francey's voice is warm and inviting more than I've ever heard in his live performances. The images are borrowed from actual photos of Ashtabula found online. The song is from his album "The Waking Hour". This is a labour of love, should you have claim to any of this please state it in the comments. That would be kindly appreciated. David Francey & Mike Ford - Seaway 2009, Laker Music/SOCAN (Canada) You can learn more about David Francey at www.davidfrancey.com You can learn more about Mike Ford at www.mikeford.ca You can purchase a copy of Seaway from CDPlus, or you can download the album from iTunes. Ice Storm Ashtabula Ohio 2008
Feb 24, 2012
God I love living in this town!...seriously. The city was without power for several days and I had to work several days straight at a hotel, first because the place was loaded with people with no power, then the next day when the place was stuffed with guys who came as far as Oregon to help fix it. That night if you stuck your head out the window you could hear a limb snap at least every five minutes.
Ashtabula Harbor, Ohio - Part 1 of 3
Jun 04, 2011
Just out for a drive and decided to stop in the Harbor of Ashtabula Ohio for this video. It was a nice day out and pretty calm without much wind along Lake Erie, not many days like this on the lakeshore. This is just a quick pan of the lakeshore lighthouse inland to the Bascule Lift Bridge. Watch for 2 more videos of the Lift Bridge raising and lowering also. This Lift Bridge is the only one of its kind still used for automobile traffic in the state of Ohio. Click on the link below for a very nice arial shot of this area and lots of other info on the Ashtabula Harbor and the Railyard here. en.wikipedia.org
